The Party Wall Act also establishes the role of party wall surveyors who act as independent professionals appointed by the building owners or adjoining owners to resolve disputes, mediate between the parties, and ensure compliance with the Act’s provisions. The surveyors play a crucial role in facilitating communication, determining the scope of work, protecting the interests of all parties involved, and, if necessary, creating legally binding agreements known as Party Wall Awards.
